Bethlehem is a Bible study application available for Android version 6.0 and above.
1. There is a menu bar at the top and a toolbar at the bottom; both scroll horizontally. If the screen is too small to display everything, you can swipe from right to left to view it.
2. It supports Bible viewing, commentary viewing, original language code translations, and translation comparison. If you tap (touch) the desired material from the top menu, the tapped text turns red and the content appears on the main screen. Tapping (touching) the red text again brings up a selection menu, allowing you to choose and view the desired material.
3. In addition to the default Bible translations, Bible commentaries, and original language code translations, users can add their own translations or commentaries. The method for adding them is explained in item 14 below.
4. Users can change the order of the translations listed in the translation selection window. 5. Supports back and forward navigation similar to an internet browser.
6. Supports a bookmark function.
7. Supports a note function. You can easily insert Bible text into your notes.
8. You can copy or share the text. Press and hold the text to bring up the menu.
9. Supports verse search and original language code (Strong's code) search functions.
10. Built-in help allows you to view usage instructions within the app. Press the question mark (?) button at the far right of the bottom toolbar to view the help.
12. Supports dark mode.
13. Supports an English UI.
14. If you install additional data, you can view various translations and commentaries. The method for adding data is as follows: (1) Install the Bethlehem app. (2) Search for "Bethlehem Bible" on Google and download the additional data compatible with Bethlehem version 2.0.5 or higher for Android. (3) Unzip the downloaded file and copy it into the Bethlehem folder in your device's internal memory (Android > data > com.abethlehem.bible > files). (4) After launching Bethlehem, swipe the bottom toolbar from right to left. You will see a 'Register New Data (+/-)' button at the far right; press this button to register the data.
★ On phones running Android 11 or higher, the default file manager (such as 'My Files') cannot access the Bethlehem folder. In such cases, you can copy the files using one of the following two methods.
[Method ①] Connect your phone to a computer, then navigate to the Bethlehem folder on your computer and copy the files.
[Method ②] Download 'CX File Explorer' or 'Total Commander' from the Play Store and use that app to copy the files to the Bethlehem folder. If you are unable to access the Bethlehem folder using these apps as well, you must use Method ①.
