Bethlehem is a Bible study application that can be used on Android versions 5.0 and higher.
1. There is a menu bar at the top and a toolbar at the bottom, both of which can be scrolled left and right. If the screen is too small to display everything, you can slide from right to left to view.
2. It supports Bible view, commentary view, original language code translation view, and translation comparison view. If you tap (touch) the desired material from the top menu, the tapped letter will turn red and the content will appear on the main screen. If you tap (touch) the red letter once more, a selection menu will appear, allowing you to select and view the desired material.
3. In addition to the Bible translation, commentary, and original language code translation provided by default, users can add translations or commentaries. The additional method is described in number 14 below.
4. Users can change the order of the translations in the list of translation selection windows.
5. Supports back and forward movement similar to Internet browsers.
6. Supports bookmark function.
7. Supports note function. You can easily insert Bible text into note contents.
8. You can copy or share the contents of the text. Long press the text to bring up the menu.
9. Supports Bible verse search / original code (Strong code) search function.
10. Help is embedded so you can see the usage instructions within the app. You can see the help by pressing the question mark (?) button at the right end of the lower toolbar.
12. Supports dark mode.
13. Supports English UI.
14. If you install additional data, you can see various translations and annotations. The additional method is as follows. (1) Install the Bethlehem app. (2) Search for ‘Bethlehem Bible’ in Google Search to download additional data that can be used in Bethlehem 2.0.5 or later for Android. (3) Unzip the downloaded file and copy it to the Bethlehem folder (Android > data > com.abethlehem.bible > files) in the device’s internal memory. (4) After running Bethlehem, slide the bottom toolbar from right to left and you will see the ‘Register New Data (+/-)’ button on the right end. Click this button to register the data.
★ Recently, phones with Android 11 or later installed cannot access the Bethlehem folder with the default file manager (‘My Files’, etc.). In that case, you can copy it by selecting one of the following two methods.
[Method ①] Connect the phone to the computer, then go to the Bethlehem folder on the phone from the computer and copy it.
[Method ②] Download ‘CX File Explorer’ or ‘Total Commander’ from the Play Store and use that app to copy it to the Bethlehem folder. If you still cannot access the Bethlehem folder with these apps, you will need to use method ①.
