Telemarketing is the term used to characterize the promotion of sales and services through telephone contact. Telemarketing activities are an important instrument for the growth of telecommunications services in Brazil.
In an industry initiative, the country's main Telecommunications Service Providers gathered to discuss good practices and standardization of use of this mechanism, in line with the growing debate on the subject by society and in respect for the citizen. After the implementation of Não me Perturbe, the banks that work with the payroll product requested to participate in the website, to allow users to also request the blocking of unwanted calls related to the Payroll Loan and Payroll Credit Card offer.
Therefore, the NMP is a register to request the blocking of incoming calls related to offers of telecommunications services (mobile phone, landline, pay TV and Internet) from participating Providers and payroll operations (payroll loan and credit card payroll) carried out by Financial Institutions.
Registration must be done on the platform, where citizens must inform the telephone number to which they wish to block calls, as well as the Provider and/or Financial Institution to which they do not wish to receive telemarketing calls.
In this way, both the Service Providers and the Banks will not be able to make offers for this telephone, from 30 calendar days from the request date. In the case of Financial Institutions, it is important to emphasize that blocking calls does not apply to the following cases: data confirmation, fraud prevention, collections and retention of portability requests, with or without refinancing offers.
