wouldn't allow me to log into my account with LGE/KU many others has said yhe very same thing

You will need to establish new credentials for the app in the case of LGE/KU, these are different credentials from your my account login. The MyMeter website utilizes single sign on from the LGE/KU website, the app is currently stand alone. If you simply register directly on mymeter you should be able to login directly.
