I have found this app to be far more consistently accurate in terms of weather forecasting, including long range forecasting, than any of the other leading weather apps. I had completely given up on weather forecasting, until I discovered AccuWeather. It's refreshing to know that weather forecasting can actually be done with greater precision than the consistently wrong, forecasting that I was accustomed to, via the Weather Network. I'd like to know how to make AccuWeather my phone's default background weather app. It was the default app on my previous Samsung phone, but my current and Samsung phone has the Weather Network set as the default weather app. I have so far, not been successful in trying to remedy this issue. For the moment, I manually access the AccuWeather information when I want reliable information. It would be more convenient if it was the app that showed on my phone's display.

The layout is a little busy but not terrible. I'm sure I will get used to it. I haven't used it long enough to know if it is accurate 2, 3, 4 days out. Accurate predictions of temp and precipitation 2 - 4 days away is very important to me. But it has more details than the Weather Channel app I have been using for many years. So I'll stick with this for 2018 and reassess my choice at the end of the year.

The app works well, does not seem to take much battery power. The controls are easy to use switching between radar and forecast etc. I like it better than our local TV station app because it's not full of ads and does not have videos playing all over the page. I recommend this one. And they do seem to be accurate.

Better to look out the window. The current conditions it reports frequently don't match its own minute cast or "looking ahead" forecast, all on the same page at the same time, or even the radar maps. It's not only wrong generally more often than it is right, but it doesn't even agree with itself.
By far THE BEST weather app I've seen and used! I have to know what to expect outside in order to plan even simple errands, such as a trip to the grocery store. A sudden shift in the barometric pressure can shut my body down within minutes. The hour-to-hour function here assists in my decisions for the day, saving me a lot of pain.

One of my favorite goto sites for conditions that might effect my travel. As a road warrior before retiring in 2015, I flew out if PHL every Sunday for +/- 19 years and without fail I checked Accuweather before I packed. You had to know what the weather conditions were at your destination city. I found it very deliable for my needs.

In my exploration of the wonderful features and capabilities offered by AccuWeather, I accidentally reported that, in my area, there were slippery roads, snow/flurries present, etc, which are forecasted b/w tonight and tomorrow a.m., but NOT CURRENTLY OCCURRING. My sincerest apology. Otherwise, the app looks great, very user-friendly and UP-2-DATE! Prayers for safe keeping for all.
The app used to be displayed opened to the temperatures automatically at the top far left side on my tablet's front page as when I purchased it approximately in 2013. Suddenly about two-thhree months ago it no longer displayed. Didn't and still don't know what happened. Since that time I sought to review Weather Channel and Underground Weather and discovered that they are no comparison to this app and I've returned to my preferred selection. Enjoy!
On the hourly forecast mode, accuweather is also an excellent alternative weather and visibility resource in VFR/VMC operations to rugged destinations and austere airports without aviation weather services... its hourly visibility forecast is so good it provides a greater handle of preflight planning options even in mountainous environments and destinations with known volatile weather characteristics..
AccuWeather tends to be overly optimistic. Rarely does it get as warm as the app says it will. Also once you add a favorite location, there seems to be no way to remove it. And the interface is annoying. My Home button will disappear on certain pages and I have to back out of the page before I can use my Home button.
I would give the app a better rating except the temperature reported is often wrong. When it's really cold the reported temps are as much as 10 degrees to cold. Right now the thermometer at my house says -4, AccuWeather says -12, wunderground says -4. It's not just wrong now but just about all the time. When it's warmer the temps reported seem to be about right. The inaccurate readings make AccuWeather less useful as I need to look at other sources to tell what the temperature really is.
Use the app daily. Switched from the Weather Network app to AccuWeather because it wouldn't work half the time and will never go back. The hourly forecast is a bit busy...could do without the temp/real feel graph. All in all though, a good informative app for weather.
It's annoying trying to scroll through the weather with ads all the time. Get realistic about applications. Just because it's free doesn't mean you make the application annoying with ads adding inconvenience. Then try to make an individual pay to get rid of them. More it's like "Get a LIFE" , and find a real way to make money.
It's a Great! app keeps up with my weather where I live. Best one yet. Love it. And I like how it alerts me when there is bad weather coming. Keep up the good work. This update is even better than last one. Thank You! And it doesn't use up my battery like the other weather apps did.
*Does not seem to have any way to turn off "Favorite locations". I don't have any so-called favorite locations and certainly never set one in this app, but somehow it set one on its own & won't allow it to be removed. I want weather, including Severe Alerts, to be cued exclusively to my current location, while being able to easily check weather on up the road anywhere I want to. I drive a truck, so I have no need or desire for any fixed location based weather whatsoever. In fact, everything that is based on a fixed location just gets directly in my way.
Best weather app in the Pay Store. Definitely the most accurate. I've used other apps, and they were hit and miss on their accuracy, and I won't use any other app for weather reports. 😁💗 Love this one, and it's perfect!! And it doesn't matter where you are, AccuWeather will give you the best report for your day when it comes to weather!!
Accuracy has been diminishing little by little over the years, at least around here. Right now it says it'll stop snowing in 16 minutes. Snow? There is NONE. This isn't the first time the precipitation forecast has been wildly wrong in the past year or so but it is one of the more glaring examples.
It's still pretty buggy. Often even after I manually update it, the temperature in the widget is different than the one in my notifications bar, which is also different than what's inside the app. So at any given moment, I can have 3 different temperatures that it is giving me. The whole point of having the temp in the notifications bar or in the widget is to make it more convenient, but often it's more of a hassle because it's wrong more often than it's correct and I have to double check anyway.
I really liked this app before the update. Now the screen only shows two days at a time. And it make you pay to get extended forecasts. It does show other city temps etc but there is too much useless information taking up capable screen real estate on my phone. is
Really nice app, good interface. Haven't had it for long but it seems to be fairly accurate. Weather underground has a better widget with its concurrent lines for temperature and precipitation. But this is close, and Weather Underground has been crashing like crazy lately. This is an excellent alternative.
Seems like every time there is an update, the widgets are different and break. Then I have to reinstall to get it working again. Update: they seemed to have fixed the widget problem but now the push alerts crash the app when I click on them. No idea what the alert was and no way to see active alerts that I can find.
It is more inaccurate than accurate. For example giving the wrong temperature for my area right now and saying light snow (1 to 3 cm) expected for today. We have over a foot at this point and no sign of heavy snow stopping. We are under snowfall warnings right now.
I had a "Command Center" on my home screen that gave me the immediate weather conditions. I could expand from there for.more options and information. I would like to have it back. It was so much more convenient and easier to navigate than this app. I will probably only keep this app until I can find something I like better.
My favorite weather app I've tried many weather apps but what sets this one apart is that it is very light and responsive while also delivering more weather information such as detailed sheets and snow or rain totals. Other top weather apps I've tried allowed my phone way down and didn't always provide accurate forecasts.
Great app, but the animated ads are too annoying for words. Got sick of it and uninstalled it! If the ads were just static they would have been tolerable. Even if you change your location the status bar entry still doggedly sticks with an old location. Just too much hassle to figure out. *Delete*
Works perfectly. In the status bar options I would give the possibility to choose both temp and weather conditions instead of having to choose one or the other. So maybe in the left top corner you can have the little temp number and the small icon on the side.
The least accurate weather app I've downloaded so far. I would know since I pay close attention the the weather because of my job and this app fails in every category. Please dowlaod something better, like Weather Underground, which will not make you pay for a long term forecast and is far more accurate.
This is the most accurate weather app I've ever used. We live in a very small town and other apps tend to prefict weather 'near' where we are, so therefore not accurate. AccuWeather is right on the money 90% of the time!
This weather app was once my go-to for current and future weather forecasts, but I'm currently trying to find something more accurate. It'll be snowing or raining and the app tells me it's sunny out and no chance of precipitation, or vice versa. Not sure what's going on, but I can't rely on AccuWeather anymore.
I love accuweather. Use it on all my past phones. With this app. the only thing I miss is a refresh button on the himepage panel beside the temp. When I want to see before the schedule if temp. has changed, I can't. It won't refresh even when it shows the button on the pulldown. I still love it tho. 5 stars if not for the refresh.
We are in the middle of a severe, dangerous snow blizzard. I'm looking out my window right now with zero visibility from lake snow, that has been all day and night. The AccuWeather Radar shows absolutely nothing, for past or future.
A very busy app loaded with information, may appear like too much to take in but it's actually very well organised and easy to follow. Another plus is all the information you ever need is available especially a rain radar! However, it lags on the accuracy range during an 8 day test with other apps. Where I live may be a conflict zone of weather fronts- but that doesn't excuse the now cast which has been regularly totally out (eg. It says sunny skies yet it was overcast) yet the hourly forcast is more accurate. It is very prone to over estimate the winds compared to others, but it corrects that day(s) later. Otherwise it's excellent and well detailed!!
Purchased the full version a week ago. I find it to be very inaccurate. Today it has been showing partial sun all day despite it having been raining with solid cloud throughout. I have been comparing against 2 other weather apps showing the correct weather. I feel I have wasted my money.
I love that I get such accurate minute by minute information. "A break in the rain in 5 minutes" lets me plan walking my dog without unnecessarily walking in the rain. RealFeel® lets me dress for what it actually feels like, not temp. Important in rainy Oregon.
Local 120 minute forecast is a great feature. Some "Severe Weather Alerts" are annoying, such as multiple night time alerts in January that below freezing temperatures may cause slippery roads.
Update - 1/24/18 I'm still using this app after many years. The rain forecast's have been more accurate so I'm happy 😊. So far no other issues or concerns. -------- I use it daily. The only problem is a lot of times it's raining here and the app says that it's not.
I can only get one location. There are no directions on how to check other areas. Could not find any information on the major earthquake in Alaska 2 days ago. Very frustrating to try to navigate through to get info I want. It's ok if you only want to check one place. Google weather is a much more user friendly app.
This app is not accurate at all. Right now Edmonton is hit by a snow storm and we have about 9 inches of accumulation and the "accu" weather says it's flurries of 0.4cm. Do NOT rely on this app if you're from any other province other than Ontario. The only accurate reading is for Ontario cities. The other provinces do not actually have someone out here monitoring the forecast. Accuweather relies on other information for forecasts outside of Ontario. Stay away.
Would be nice to have lightning detection before the Spring storm season starts up. Also the government weather warnings should be for follow me option and not just saved locations. Additionally, the notification shade area should also automatically show conditions for follow me GPS. Long time Weather Channel user here and they have lightning detection. I like this apps look and layout. Also it is important for follow me widget to update timely and as accurate as possible. It appears that AccuWeather is getting better at this over the last year. Keep it up going in the right direction.
BEST APP out there. Really PRECISE with it's "Minute Cast" weather reports and weather reports in general. Very easily interactive and responsive. Never encountered any problems using app, its' content or their reporting of the weather conditions. LUV IT!!!
