River Sleep is a children's sleep app with evidence-based sleep meditations, classic bedtime stories read by a dad, world-class orchestras, and ambient sounds, and more. Always dark and offline-capable. No ads. No tracking. Just better sleep.
WHAT'S INSIDE
Sleep meditations using progressive muscle relaxation, breathing exercises, and body scans — evidence-based techniques shown to improve both the quality and duration of sleep. Every meditation is woven through with rich vocabulary and contextual learning, so children develop literacy and self-regulation skills even as they drift off.
Classic bedtime stories from A.A. Milne, Beatrix Potter, Rudyard Kipling, and more — read aloud by a dad to his daughter, in a voice made for quiet rooms and dark houses.
World-class orchestral music and ambient sounds — brown noise, rain, gentle streams, ocean waves — seamlessly looping for all-night support or a preset amount of time.
A Parent's Corner with adult meditations, NSDR (non-sleep deep rest), breathing exercises for parent and child, relaxing puzzles (Sudoku and Word Bloom), and informative reading material. Because once the kids are down, you still exist.
DESIGNED FOR SLEEP
The interface is dark by design. No album art, no animations, no blue light at bedtime. We engineered the screen to protect melatonin production — the dark interface isn't aesthetic, it's a health decision. A dimming toggle takes the screen darker still, designed for bedside use when even a little light is too much.
Everything downloads for offline use. No Wi-Fi at bedtime. No buffering. No interruptions. Your routine stays intact on a plane, at a cabin, wherever sleep needs to happen.
No ads. No tracking. No data collection. Your family's bedtime is always private.
FAMILY MADE
River Sleep started as a homeschool project between a dad and his daughter. She picks the stories. He reads them to her. She gave design input, suggested features, and named the app. Together they built the app they wanted to use on a nightly basis.
