GRE Beast is a focused vocabulary builder for the GRE — 4,861 hand-picked words, five practice rounds per session, and a selection algorithm that resurfaces the words you keep missing without burning out the ones you already know.
Practice the way the brain learns. Each session pairs new words with review words, weighted by how often you've missed them and how long it's been since you saw them last. You spend more time on what's hard for you, less on what's already stuck.
WHAT'S BUNDLED
• 4,861 GRE words with definitions, difficulty levels, and example sentences
• Five rounds per session: study cards, word→definition, definition→word, sentence cloze, and spell-it
• Per-word progress and a clear mastery threshold (3 in a row, no recent mistake)
• Streak tracking with daily reminders
• Offline. No account. No tracking.
HOW A SESSION WORKS
You pick 5, 10, or 15 words. Round 1 lets you read each word with its definition and example. Rounds 2 through 4 are multiple choice, with one twist: the sentence cloze round uses the actual surface form of the word from its example and surrounds it with grammatically matched distractors, so an "abdicated" answer is sitting next to other past-tense verbs, not base forms. Round 5 is straight spelling — case- and accent-insensitive, but you have to get the letters right.
After each session, words you missed at least once get queued for review. Tap "Review missed" to drill them immediately while they're fresh, or let the algorithm bring them back in the next regular session.
