About this app

Adept is the companion app for doctors in postgraduate training whose programme uses the Adept training platform. It puts your training in your pocket: where you are placed, how your training is progressing, and what is coming next.

Adept is by invitation only. Your training programme director or college tutor invites you, and you sign in with the email address they used. If your programme does not use Adept yet, you will not be able to create an account.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• See your training timeline: every placement, past and future, with your grade and stage dates and your expected completion date.
• Know where you are going next: your next placement appears as soon as your programme has finalised the rotation, and from six weeks before the changeover you can look ahead to your next hospital's induction handbook, teaching and modules.
• Record your modules: choose the modules and special interest areas you are doing on each placement, from what your hospital offers.
• Follow the teaching calendar: regional teaching days for your programme and departmental teaching at your current hospital, in one list.
• Keep your exams and milestones up to date: exam attempts and passes, certificates and stage sign-offs.
• Prepare for your ARCP: complete your pre-ARCP checklist in the app, so your programme director has it before the panel.
• Read your hospital's induction handbook before you start.

BUILT FOR TRAINING PROGRAMMES

Programme directors and college tutors manage rotations, capacity, less-than-full-time training and ARCPs on the Adept web platform. The app shows you the same record they see, so there is one version of your training, not several spreadsheets.

PRIVACY AND SECURITY

• Every account is protected by two-factor authentication with an authenticator app.
• Your record is visible only to you, your programme director and your college tutor.
• No advertising, no tracking and no in-app purchases.
• You can download a copy of your data or request its deletion from your profile.
• Data is processed on behalf of your training programme under UK GDPR and stored in Google Cloud in the UK and EU.
