About this app

ADV Vet is the adventure-motorcycle ride logger built by veteran riders, for veteran riders. Whether you're chasing the next Backcountry Discovery Route, threading fire roads on a Ténéré, racking up dirt miles on a KTM 890, or just trying to keep a clean log of every Saturday morning, ADV Vet keeps the receipts.

No ads. No tracking. No social-media doomscroll. Just your bike, your routes, your miles.

TRACK EVERY RIDE
Hit Start Ride and ADV Vet records your full GPS path in the background — even with the screen off. Auto-pause kicks in after 12 minutes of no movement so a long fuel stop doesn't trash your average. End the ride and get a clean breakdown: distance, moving time, elevation, max speed, weather at the start, and which National Parks you crossed. Every ride lands in your Garage forever, exportable as GPX.

PLAN THE NEXT ONE
Drop pins on the map, snap-to-road with OSRM, and ADV Vet plans the route for you. Save it private, publish it to the community, or hand it off to Google Maps or DMD2 for turn-by-turn. Photon address autocomplete means you can search "Capitol Forest" or "Cle Elum BLM" and actually find it.

EXPLORE PUBLISHED ROUTES
A growing catalog of the canonical Backcountry Discovery Routes (WABDR, IDBDR, ORBDR, MABDR, NEBDR, COBDR, NMBDR, UTBDR, AZBDR, CABDR-S/N), state byways, and rider-submitted routes. Filter by difficulty, surface, length, and proximity. Read the comments. Save the ones you want to ride. Rate the ones you've ridden.

LEVEL UP
21 achievements covering distance milestones, National Park crossings, BDR completions, streak days, and group-ride badges. A real skills tree based on actual ADV riding fundamentals — slow-speed control, standing turns, sand, gravel, water crossings, hill descents. Track your progress through tiers from "First Mile" to "Maximum Rider."

CONNECT WITH YOUR SQUAD
Follow other riders. See their published routes and lifetime miles. Plan group rides with custom date/time pickers and an embedded map preview. Pin a meet-up location. Drop direct messages with realtime delivery. Comment on routes. Vote up the best ones.

YOUR GARAGE
Add your bike — year, make, model, color, photo. Decode any model year via the NHTSA database during signup. See lifetime stats: total miles, ride count, longest ride, current streak, National Parks crossed. Tap any past ride to relive the path, see the trip log, and share a generated ride card.

BUILT THE WAY YOU'D BUILD IT
• Offline-friendly: rides record even when cell service drops.
• Privacy-first: zero analytics, zero ad networks, zero data sales. Your rides are yours.
• Veteran-friendly: optional service-branch tag, no obnoxious gamification.
• Honest UI: dark mode by default, real numerics, no bouncing emoji.
• Built on Expo, Supabase, and OpenStreetMap. Open standards, no lock-in.

A WORD ON SAFETY
ADV Vet is a logging and planning tool. It is not a navigation system, not a safety device, and not a replacement for checking road conditions, fuel range, weather, or legal access before you ride. Always ride within your skill level. Always wear your gear. Always carry recovery. Cell service and GPS can fail — carry a paper map and a dedicated GPS where being stranded matters. You ride at your own risk.
