About this game

DECADES is a money life simulator and financial literacy game set in Malaysia. You start at 18 with the hand you are dealt, then live sixty years one month at a time. Every card is a real money choice: study or work, rent or buy, save or spend, a PTPTN loan to pay back, EPF savings locked until 55, a stock tip from the coffee shop, a pasar malam stall that could grow into a chain, and the ah long who needs no paperwork.

It is a life simulation game about the money lessons school skips, told in plain English, with no lectures.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Roll a life: a family, a hometown, a quirk, a starting sum, and a secret you do not know yet
• Answer 1,314 money cards, each with a short lesson after your choice
• Study for a diploma or a degree, go back for a Master's or a PhD, or start work at 18
• Apply for jobs from cafe waiter to chief executive, ask for a raise, live through a layoff
• Pay income tax every year on Malaysian tax bands, with EPF relief and the rebate
• Borrow at the bank: personal loan, car loan, home loan, business loans backed by your records and your assets, with a credit score and a DSR that decide yes or no
• Meet the ah long when the bank says no, and find AKPK, the free way out of debt
• Buy homes to live in or rent out, from a terrace house to a mansion
• Open a business from 35 ideas, then grow it outlet by outlet into a chain of up to 20
• Trade 20 invented Bursa counters in board lots, with real fees, stamp duty, dividends, PN17 warnings and penny stock traps
• Buy a big enough stake and make a takeover offer for a whole company
• Fall in love your way: swipe on a dating app, meet someone at work, through friends or back in the kampung
• Propose, plan the wedding, decide on a prenup and how you will share money, or break up and start again
• Raise children, keep a pet and look after your parents
• See your assets, liabilities and net worth on a real balance sheet
• Look up any money word in a 63-term glossary the moment you meet it
• Watch every choice land: the money and the mood it moved pop up in the middle of the screen, and the big moments come with pictures
• End every life on a final ledger with a grade from S to D, your life in moments (the big firsts, from your first pay to your first home) and a personality reading: your four-letter type, strengths, watch-outs, the friends who suit you and your love style
• Collect 43 achievements and chase your personal bests

THREE LEVELS
• Easy: kind luck, fewer disasters, the same lessons
• Realistic: the game as it is meant to be played
• Hard: bad luck comes more often, and the score pays more

FOR TEACHERS AND CLASSES
Teachers can run DECADES as a class. Write to [e-mail] for a teacher code, start a class and share one class code. Everyone lives the same life from the same start, and the teacher sees each final ledger on a class board that is deleted after 7 days. No student accounts. For players 13 and over.
