Reframe horizontal video to vertical. 3 free exports/month, no card needed.
This update makes tracking smoother, zooming smarter, editing more forgiving, and adds on-device scene detection. Cropper is built for creators who need precise vertical video crops without a desktop editor — and 2.3.5 is our biggest quality-of-life release yet.
3-AXIS TRACKING — PAN & ZOOM TOGETHER Pan and zoom are now recorded in a single pass. Use one finger to follow your subject, or pinch with two fingers to follow and zoom at the same time. Cropper captures horizontal position, vertical position, and zoom as one continuous keyframe path — no splitting the job into separate passes. What you track is what you export, baked frame for frame into your final vertical video. Slow the playback speed (0.25× or 0.5×) for fast action and your path still records cleanly.
ZOOM THAT STAYS PUT Zoom stays centered on your subject instead of drifting toward a corner. Zoom-out works reliably from start to finish, and the crop box behaves predictably while you scrub and play. Your exported video matches the preview — no offset framing and no “it looked right until I exported.”
EDIT KEYFRAMES IN PLACE Jump back to any keyframe and adjust position, zoom, or transition without creating a duplicate or overwriting unrelated work. Keyframe dots only appear when you navigate back, so the canvas stays clean while you track. Nudge with the on-screen joystick, switch transitions (Smooth, Sport, Movie), jump to a keyframe’s exact time, or delete it without breaking the rest of your edit.
SCENE DETECTION — NEW Scene Detection scans your clip for hard cuts entirely on your phone — no upload, no cloud, no account required. When enabled, Cropper finds scene boundaries so you can jump between shots with Prev Scene and Next Scene. Perfect for multi-camera edits, interview angle changes, reaction cams, and B-roll-heavy timelines. Toggle scene detection in Settings; turn it off anytime or re-run on a new clip. Detection runs in the background and never blocks your hands from tracking.
EXPORT YOUR WAY Choose export quality at the last step before you render — not buried in settings. Source size for a fast export that matches your clip’s native detail, or Max quality to upscale toward the highest resolution your device can deliver (up to 4K where supported). Trim, keyframes, zoom, and enhancement settings are all baked into the file you save to your camera roll or share.
ON-SCREEN GESTURE GUIDES Hand mode shows quick, friendly hints for panning and zooming the first time you need them. One finger to follow, two fingers to follow and zoom — the controls are obvious from the first tap, so you spend less time guessing and more time framing the shot.
A BIGGER CANVAS IN LANDSCAPE Rotate to landscape for a larger preview with compact controls along the side. The video and playback transport stay locked on the left while your tools scroll on the right — no more bouncing layout when you rotate your phone. More pixels on screen means easier tracking on small subjects and finer pinch-zoom control.
TRIM WITH CONFIDENCE Mark In and Mark Out now land exactly on the playhead, so your trim handles match what you see on the timeline. Set in and out while scrubbing, export only the segment you need, and keep your keyframe path inside the trimmed range.
SMOOTHER, FASTER, MORE STABLE We fixed freezes that could happen while zooming, tightened gesture handling across portrait and landscape, and made live tracking feel responsive in real time — including on ProMotion displays. Keyframes follow action at the right density during playback tracking so your path keeps up with motion smoothly. Scene detection no longer gets stuck on “Finding scenes…,” crop preview stays fluid while detection runs, and rotating your phone no longer drops an active pan mid-gesture.
