RoboLink is a wireless robot controller app for Android that lets you control Arduino-based robots over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Whether you are building an RC car, a robotic arm, or any custom Arduino project, RoboLink gives you the tools to connect, customize, and control with ease.
Built for makers, hobbyists, and robotics enthusiasts, RoboLink is designed to be powerful enough for advanced users while remaining simple enough for beginners to get started in minutes.
CONNECTIVITY
RoboLink supports two wireless connection types. Over Wi-Fi, the app uses the UDP protocol for ultra-low latency communication, making it ideal for real-time robot control. You can configure port numbers, update intervals, and connect to ESP32 or ESP8266 access points as well as local networks. Over Bluetooth Classic, the app pairs with Arduino boards using HC-05, HC-06, or ESP32 Bluetooth modules. Paired devices are remembered for instant reconnection, and the app automatically reconnects when a connection drops.
CUSTOMIZABLE CONTROLLER LAYOUT
One of RoboLink's standout features is its drag-and-drop layout editor. You can build your perfect controller by adding, removing, resizing, and repositioning widgets on a visual grid. Available widgets include analog joysticks, buttons, sliders, toggles, D-pads, XY pads, gauges, triggers, and live camera feeds. Every widget is fully configurable to suit your specific robot and use case.
LAYOUT PRESETS AND SAVING
RoboLink comes with built-in layout presets for common robot types, including RC Car and Robotic Arm configurations. You can also save your own custom layouts and switch between them instantly. Layouts can be exported and imported, making it easy to share your controller setups with other users.
JOYSTICK AND WIDGET CONTROLS
The analog joystick supports configurable axes, dead zones, and output ranges, with axis inversion for different robot orientations. It sends continuous position data for smooth and precise control. Toggle widgets support both latching and momentary modes. The D-pad provides digital directional input for simple movement control. Sliders, XY pads, and trigger controls give you fine-grained control over additional robot functions.
ROBOTIC ARM SUPPORT
RoboLink includes a dedicated robotic arm control mode with vertical sliders for each joint, color-coded by channel for easy identification. An XY position pad lets you control end-effector positioning, and a gripper toggle gives you quick open and close control. Each slider displays real-time value feedback as you move it.
LIVE CAMERA STREAMING
Connect to an MJPEG camera stream from your robot and view it directly in the app. The camera widget supports flip and mirror options, as well as fullscreen mode for FPV-style driving.
GETTING STARTED
Getting started with RoboLink is straightforward. Download the RoboLink Arduino library, install it in your IDE, and upload the example sketch to your board. Then open the app, select your connection type, and pair with your board. From there, you can customize your controller layout and start driving your robot within minutes. The app also includes an onboarding walkthrough and example projects to help new users get up and running quickly.
COMPATIBILITY
RoboLink works with a wide range of Arduino-compatible boards and wireless modules, including ESP32, ESP8266, Arduino Uno with HC-05, Arduino Mega with HC-06, and many more. The app is optimized for both phones and tablets and runs smoothly on Android 6.0 and above.
RoboLink is free to download and open source. It is built with care for the robotics community and is actively maintained with new features and improvements.
