About this app

SM Print is the field-operations app for SM Print's managed printer and printing-materials service across hospitals.

It is a private application for SM Print staff. Access is by invitation only — an account that has not been added by an administrator cannot see any data.

WHAT IT DOES

Jobs
Raise, assign and complete delivery, repair and service jobs. Every job carries the hospital it belongs to, who it is assigned to, when it is scheduled, and notes from whoever raised it. Field staff can raise a job themselves for work they find on site.

Completion proof
Photograph finished work from the job screen. Photos are captured against the job and uploaded when a connection is available, so nothing is lost when a site has no signal.

Meter readings
Record printer sheet counts during a service visit. Readings are stored exactly as submitted and are kept against the printer and the hospital, so a machine's history follows it even after it moves. Administrators can enter a reading for a past date when a visit is written up later.

Printers and hospitals
Keep the fleet and the sites it serves up to date: attach a printer to a hospital, move it, or take it out of service. Every association change is recorded with the date and the person who made it, so where a machine has been is answerable months later.

Expenses
Submit travel and site expenses with an optional receipt photo. Administrators review, approve or reject them.

Reports and exports
Month-by-month summaries of jobs, expenses and meter usage. Any of them can be exported as a CSV file to the device. A single printer or a single hospital can be exported on its own — a printer's full history, or everything that has happened at one site including who did each visit and what was delivered, repaired or read.

Chat
Team and one-to-one messaging with photo attachments, so a question from site does not have to leave the app.

Works offline
Field work does not wait for a signal. Job updates and photos captured without a connection are queued on the device and synced automatically when one returns.

ROLES

Administrator — full access, including master data and user management.
Manager — the same day-to-day access as an administrator, except that only an administrator can remove or deactivate records.
Employee — their own jobs, their own expenses, and the master data they need to do the work.

PERMISSIONS THIS APP ASKS FOR

Camera and photos — to capture completion proof and expense receipts.
Notifications — to tell you when a job is assigned to you or an expense is decided.

SM Print does not collect location data and does not contain advertising.
