About this app

Airmeter is a submetering app that creates a fair billing service for multi-tenant homes. Airmeter collects data from the SONOFF Smart SPM (Stackable Power Meter). The landlord must install the SONOFF Smart SPM hardware, download the eWeLink app, and pair with the device within the eWeLink app. Users can then access data from the device in the Airmeter app by using their eWeLink login credentials.

The Airmeter app allows the elimination of physical submeters. Each room typically contains multiple circuits, and combining these circuits through physical submeters is a tedious process. On the other hand, the SONOFF Smart SPM is installed at the electricity source, significantly reducing both installation cost and time.

The Airmeter app also gives tenants a flexible submetering solution, without the need for any third parties to process bills. The admin pays the property's full electricity bill to the electricity supplier but is compensated according to each tenant’s individual electricity consumption. Tenants can choose whether to submeter or not—without the need to physically add or remove submeters.

Circuit allocation is done by cleverly asking tenants to toggle electrical appliances ON and OFF, and then select the correct electrical circuit based on observed circuit activity. This allows the admin to easily allocate the desired circuit to the correct room, despite the absence of a physical submeter.

The Airmeter app also allows the admin to input the electricity tariff rate. Tenants can pay their monthly electricity bill to the admin in cash. The admin can see the electricity consumption of each tenant within the Airmeter app. Tenants can be added by the admin sharing a unique QR code. Energy consumption costs of shared rooms or circuits are split equally between all tenants.
