A rug so filthy you can't see the pattern. Your job is simple: get it clean.
Soak it. Soap it. Scrub the dirt up and over the edge. Then vacuum the water
back out.
WATER FIRST
A dry rug barely gives up any dirt. Soak it before you do anything else.
THEN SOAP
Soap lifts far more than water alone. It also runs out — when the scrubbing
starts to slow, put more down.
SCRUB UPWARD
This is the good part. Drag from the bottom to the top and the dirty water
piles up in front of the brush and pours off the far edge. Sweep fast enough
and it takes everything with it, leaving a clean stripe behind.
VACUUM TO FINISH
One pass and the rug is dry behind the nozzle. Pick up the leftover water
and foam and you're done.
THEN LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID
Swipe between Before and After, or hit Replay and watch the whole wash play
back from the start.
WHAT'S ACTUALLY BEING SIMULATED
Every rug is a grid of nearly ten thousand cells. Water spreads, pools and
flows. The fibres soak it up and wick it sideways. Soap sinks into the pile
and rinses back out. Foam builds up in layers and collapses once the soap is
gone. The dirty water you push really is carrying the dirt — and really does
run off the edge and down onto the floor.
Nothing is faked. Scrub a dry patch and nothing happens, because nothing
should.
