With Först på loks, you who are in Uppsala County and can perform CPR can help increase the chances of survival in the event of sudden cardiac arrest.
In the event of sudden cardiac arrest, every minute counts. Early treatment with CPR and defibrillation can significantly increase the chance of survival.
If you have downloaded the app and are near a cardiac arrest, you will receive an alarm in the app. You can either run to the victim immediately and start CPR, or first get the nearest defibrillator and then go to the patient to be able to give a defibrillation as quickly as possible.
The app gives you clear instructions on what to do and navigation to find the right place.
Alarms go out 24/7 in the app, but you can specify when you want to be available and be able to receive alarms.
The app uses your phone's GPS to track where it is located in order to determine whether you are close enough to a cardiac arrest to receive an alarm. You therefore need to always allow the app's location permission to receive an alarm.
The service is run by the Ambulance Service in the Uppsala Region on behalf of the Committee for Health and Medical Care in the Uppsala Region.
