Tap to Ship is a game about IT in the era of neural networks. Press Enter, and the code is written automatically. Hire AI models: they write faster than you and break things faster too. Pay for tokens, fix bugs, release, and then join a new company for stock options.
Hackathon to get you started
The first company is the "No Sleep" hackathon. The team lead will walk you through Enter, bugs, models, your hardware, and harness step by step. The tutorial can be skipped.
Enter is the main button
Each press writes code: first symbol by symbol, then lines, functions, files, and modules. The finished file is marked "Build passed": code x2 for 10 seconds.
Bugs as in the tracker
A blocker prevents you from submitting a task. A critical one reduces your income by 12%, a minor one by 4%. A minor one that hangs around for too long becomes critical. Switch Enter to "Repair" mode and clear the mess.
AI Models and Token Bills
14 fictitious models, from a slow potato on an old laptop to expensive flagships. The model writes its own code and spends money every second. Make sure its income exceeds its expenses.
API, Subscription, or Custom Hardware
Tokens flow through custom hardware, then through a subscription, then through an API. An old laptop, a gaming PC, a GPU rig, a server rack, or your own data center: instead of an API bill, you'll have a power bill. Hardware can only handle open-source models.
Harness
AGENTS.md, a linter, unit tests, CI, agent reviewer, Tools/MCP, and evals make the same models better: fewer bugs, some are self-repairing.
Six Companies and Options
A hackathon, a "Dog Taxi" startup, a game studio, a COBOL-based bank, a crypto project, and an AI lab. Release a game and change companies: the options remain forever and can be spent on 15 ongoing improvements.
While You Were Away
The models write code without you: up to 2 hours, at half-hearted speed. New bugs don't appear while you're away.
Offline
The game doesn't require a network connection: code on the subway, train, or plane. Internet access is only required for commercials.
For whom
For those who code, work alongside developers, or are simply tired of neural network news. This isn't a programming tutorial or a real-world coding simulator, but a satirical clicker: jokes about tokens, limits, and "it works on my machine." All in-game purchases are made with in-game money; real money is not required.
Satire
All companies and models in the game are fictitious. The game is not affiliated with any real company.
About Advertising
The game is free, but it does contain advertising. You can only watch videos for rewards yourself, by clicking the button marked "Ad": a freelancer will fix all critical bugs, models will post ×2 for 10 minutes, the subscription window will reset, and your income will double during your absence. Videos are unavailable without an internet connection. Sometimes, after changing companies, a regular ad will appear, and there's a banner ad at the bottom of the screen.
Coffee is poured, tests are green. Press Enter.
