Step outside. Walk the streets. Make the map yours.
GripLock is a location-based territory game. Every street, park, and farm land is split into hexagonal tiles, and the only way to claim them is to physically walk or run across them. The more you walk, the stronger your Grip on a tile gets — and whoever has the strongest Grip rules the tile and collects its yield.
HOW IT WORKS
• Open the app and start a walking session.
• Every hex tile you cross adds to your Grip on it.
• Whoever has the highest Grip on a tile is the ruler — and gets paid.
• Walk a path that loops back on itself, and every tile inside the loop gets a Grip boost.
• Yield ticks in over time — bigger territory, bigger income.
WHY YOU'LL LIKE IT
• It rewards real movement. No autoplay, no taps to skip — your feet are the controls.
• Map your neighbourhood like nobody else. The walk to the supermarket is suddenly a strategic decision.
• Background tracking. Lock your phone in your pocket and let your walk do the work.
• Compete locally. See who else has claimed which streets, where rulers have been ousted, and where the gaps are.
• Light on the phone. Efficient location filtering keeps the battery cost of a long walk down.
YIELD AND STRATEGY
Owned tiles pay out a small hourly yield. Some tiles — resource tiles — pay much more. Closing a tight loop around a high-yield area is the fastest way to a strong income, but rivals can chip away at your Grip just by passing through. Defending territory is its own game.
WHAT YOU NEED
• A phone, a pair of shoes, and somewhere to walk.
• Google account sign-in.
• Location permission, including background location, so tracking continues while the screen is off. Tracking only runs during a session you started, and stops the moment you end it.
PRIVACY
We only collect location while a walking session is active, and only to power gameplay.
