AlertGBV is a free digital tool, available in both French and English, that enables survivors and people at risk of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) to access online support through a platform that provides:
A chatbot or automated messaging system that allows survivors to express themselves confidentially and find appropriate assistance;
Resources and information to raise awareness about GBV, including laws, policies, statistics, and more;
Contact information for support organizations, psychologists, and legal professionals;
Free support and care services for survivors;
And much more.
Above all, the platform enables survivors to receive the appropriate support they need based on their individual situation.
During its testing phase, the website recorded more than 3,000 visits, while the chatbot received around 30 testimonies from survivors and was able to provide direct support to more than 10 people.
AlertGBV is now entering its deployment phase across several African countries, including Cameroon, Chad, and South Africa. The platform aims to expand its impact by enabling individuals in Africa and abroad to purchase support packages for survivors, while also allowing companies to access GBV awareness and training sessions in the workplace.
