About this app

BreathPet counts your cat's or dog's breathing rate — the sleeping or resting
respiratory rate your vet asks you to watch at home — and keeps every count, so
you hand your veterinarian a record instead of a memory.

Made for dogs and cats living with heart disease. If your vet has asked you to
count your dog's breaths per minute at home, or to watch your cat's sleeping
respiratory rate, this is an app for that one job.

COUNTING
Tap once per breath. After thirty seconds the breathing rate is worked out from
your taps: no timer to watch, no arithmetic. The screen stays dark and silent so
it will not wake a sleeping animal, and you say whether you are counting a
sleeping or a resting rate — the two are kept apart everywhere, because they are
different numbers.

If the taps are too uneven to give a rate, the app says so and saves nothing. A
count nobody could take is not a measurement. You can note in one tap why it
failed — restless, coughing, too playful — and that goes into the record too.

YOUR VET'S NUMBER, NOT OURS
Each animal is read against the threshold your veterinarian gives you. The app
starts from a commonly cited figure, says exactly what that figure rests on, and
asks you to replace it.

It also works out that animal's own usual rate from its own counts — the step
vets describe as learning your pet's normal rate — and shows its working before
anything is saved.

THE WHOLE RECORD
Breathing counts, weight, and observations — a cough and what brought it on, a
restless night, appetite, energy — on one timeline you can filter, edit and
delete. Up to five animals in one app.

A REPORT FOR THE APPOINTMENT
A PDF for your vet: the period's breathing rate counts, averages and range, the
animal's own usual, weight, the observations you recorded, and charts drawn
against the calendar, so days you did not measure show as gaps rather than being
smoothed away.

REMINDERS
For the evening count, for medication, for a weigh-in — on the schedule you
choose.

Choose a folder — one your cloud app already syncs, if you like — and a dated
copy is written there for you. Restoring a backup is always free, whatever your
