About this app

ANTme! is an informative tool, with the sole purpose of general information on the forms of hepatic encephalopathy, even mild ones, which allows the carrying out of tests as detailed below.

The application is based on the Guidelines on Hepatic Encephalopathy published in 2018 by the Italian Association for the Study of the Liver (AISF).

The application provides the Animal Naming test, a simple and robust tool for detecting mild forms of hepatic encephalopathy.

The test involves asking the patient to list all the animals that come to mind, as quickly as possible, within a minute, assuming that the patient is alert. Once the task has been explained, the patient is informed that the count has begun by giving the go-ahead. If the patient stops before the end of the minute, it is advisable to encourage him by indicating that he still has time available, and possibly by giving an example.

For counting purposes, animals that are repeated more than once, or that are not actually animals, should not be considered.

The application has two sections, one for the simple user and one dedicated to the doctor.

In the section dedicated to the simple user, there are only two possible results, test passed successfully or consult your referring doctor for a check-up.

The test result does not constitute a diagnosis of the existence or non-existence of hepatic encephalopathy and does not replace the independent evaluation and diagnosis of a doctor.

In the section dedicated to the doctor, after the animal naming test it is possible to carry out an orientation test in time and an orientation test in space. Four outcomes may be plausible: test passed, mild encephalopathy, overt grade II encephalopathy, overt grade III encephalopathy.

The test result does not constitute a diagnosis of the existence or non-existence of hepatic encephalopathy and does not replace the evaluation and diagnosis of a doctor.

Peculiarities:
- Animal naming test accessible to all users.

Functions accessible only in the section dedicated to the doctor:
- Orientation over time.
- Orientation in space.
- Insert notes function.
- With the function send the PDF to your e-mail, you will receive the pdf of the test result.

If you have problems with the application or the instructions are not clear, you can access the complete manual within the application itself.
