You can use this app to control your DirecTV box from your smartphone.
Notice that this is not the official DirecTV Box app, but you can control it with this app.

In our app, we have several remotes models, so you can choose the remote that's right for you.

The app helps you operate your DirecTV Box device even if you cannot find your remote control! But, please note that it requires your phone to have an IR sensor.

I'd like to use this app but it doesn't have a tablet (landscape) mode, and the buttons on the remotes are too small for my fingers, even though I have maxed the size of the remote on the screen. Also does not show the remote for the directtv osprey box, at least not the remote I got with the osprey box. So until there is a tablet mode, no money from me.

So dissapointed in these apps. The one I had on my old phone didn't transfer, and none of these work at all! The other one used my wifi to connect, and I could operate any box I was at. It was so awesome!

Most of it works, but you can't adjust the volume or turn the TV on and every few taps it asks for a review. Quiet annoying.
