DXF Viewer opens CAD drawings on your phone. That is all it does, and it does it without asking you for anything.
No ads. No account. No sign-in. Your drawings never leave your phone.
IT OPENS
Tap a DXF in Files, Gmail, Drive or WhatsApp and it opens. Real drawings from real CAD software, not just the simple ones: AutoCAD R12 through 2018 files, ASCII and binary DXF alike. Files that other viewers refuse are the reason this app exists.
WHAT YOU GET
• Smooth pan and pinch-zoom, hairline-crisp at any magnification
• Fit-to-screen, and double-tap to zoom in on a detail
• Layer panel — every layer with its true colour, tap to show or hide
• Dark or light (paper) background
• Drawing info: DXF version, units, measurement system, layer, block and entity counts, and the drawing extents
• Recent files, so yesterday's drawing is one tap away
• Available in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian
IT DRAWS WHAT CAD FILES ACTUALLY CONTAIN
Lines, polylines with bulge arcs, circles, arcs, ellipses, points, blocks with scaling, rotation and arrays, text and multi-line text, attributes, dimensions, splines, solids and leaders.
PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION
DXF Viewer requests exactly one Android permission: INTERNET. It is used for one thing — anonymous usage counts, sent through Aptabase, a privacy-first analytics service. Concretely, that means events like a file being opened or a zoom control being used, plus harmless numbers such as layer and entity counts — never your file name, file path, layer names, drawing contents, or any device or advertising identifier. Aptabase assigns a session ID that resets after an hour of inactivity; there are no cookies and no persistent user ID. Your drawings never leave your phone.
There is no crash reporter, no ad network, and no other third-party SDK in the app. Aptabase, the analytics service, only counts anonymous usage events; each one carries your Android version, the app version and your language setting, and nothing that identifies you or your phone. It never browses your storage either — it sees only the file you explicitly hand it.
HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
• DWG is not supported. Save as DXF from your CAD software.
• Model space only — no paper space layouts.
• Viewing only — no editing.
• Hatch fills are not drawn yet. The info panel tells you exactly how many entities it could not render, rather than quietly dropping them.
Free. Private. Yours.
