Sidelink Hex Connect is an offline take on the classic connection game Hex, played on a honeycomb board of amber and ice. Two sides, one simple goal each: be the first to build an unbroken chain of your own hexes stretching between your two edges of the board.
HOW IT WORKS
Players alternate claiming a single empty hex — no captures, no removals, nothing to undo. Amber links the top row to the bottom row. Ice links the left column to the right column. Every hex touches up to six neighbours, so chains can bend, branch, and cross in ways a plain square grid never allows. The instant your own hexes form a connected path from one of your edges to the other, you win on the spot.
There's no such thing as a draw in Sidelink. By the time the board could possibly fill up, one side has always already connected — so every match ends in a real, decisive link.
WHAT'S INSIDE
• Play vs AI — choose a 7×7 Quick board for a fast duel or a 9×9 Standard board for a longer strategic match. The on-device opponent weighs shortest-path connection strength for both sides before every move, so it plays for real position, not just random hexes.
• Duo — hand the phone to a friend for local pass-and-play on the same honeycomb board.
• Stats — wins and losses against the AI, your current and best win streaks, 9×9 Standard board wins, and duo rounds played, all saved on your device.
• Learn — a plain-language rundown of the rules plus a rotating "find the connecting move" mini-puzzle: spot the one hex that completes Amber's chain.
• Awards — nine milestones to unlock, from your first duel to besting the AI on the full 9×9 board.

The board is drawn with a custom hex-grid renderer, complete with glowing edge bands marking each side's target edges and a warm highlight tracing your winning chain the moment you connect. Every tap and every win gives a short, distinct vibration — there's no sound, just quiet honeycomb strategy.
Completely offline. No ads, no accounts, no internet connection required, and no in-app purchases. Portrait-only, built for a quick duel on the 7×7 board or a deeper strategic session on the 9×9.
