Works great when it works. Unfortunately, that about 2% of the time. Freezes up, won't retract or deploy when selected. Have to unplug and replug OBD module to find steps. Second OBD module, first one failed completely. Wishing I would have just used the dash switch as I had in my past trucks was way more reliable, faster, and easier to use

App is sub par at best. It's not terribly intuitive. Crashes often. I had to disable the password feature because it kept locking me out and wouldn't connect. It would be great to have a feature that allows the user to select when the lights will go on. For example, having the Aux lights turn on during the night but off during the day. This should be an automatic feature and not something that needs to be manually turned on or off. App stability and user flexibility should be a priority.

I would not recommend these steps at all. I bought the smart steps with the light strip, and the driver‑side door has never worked. I’ve already replaced every electronic part they told me to, and the problem still isn’t fixed. Now I’m being told it’s actually a bug in their app, and I have to wait another three weeks for an update. I haven’t been able to use the app for three months, which makes the whole system basically useless. For the price, this is unacceptable. The product isn’t reliable.
