Works great when it works. Unfortunately, that about 2% of the time. Freezes up, won't retract or deploy when selected. Have to unplug and replug OBD module to find steps. Second OBD module, first one failed completely. Wishing I would have just used the dash switch as I had in my past trucks was way more reliable, faster, and easier to use

App is sub par at best. It's not terribly intuitive. Crashes often. I had to disable the password feature because it kept locking me out and wouldn't connect. It would be great to have a feature that allows the user to select when the lights will go on. For example, having the Aux lights turn on during the night but off during the day. This should be an automatic feature and not something that needs to be manually turned on or off. App stability and user flexibility should be a priority.

had so many issues then got the new update. they work now but the app doesn't show the strip light anymore. when it did show the strip light I could never get them to change color or even say on while the vehicle was driving. I dont recommend the smart steps because your paying so much for things they may work and parts that no longer work.
