About this app

Tea is an important cash crop of Bangladesh. Panchagarh is the pioneer district of small-scale “সমতলের চা শিল্প” tea cultivation. Panchagarh's “সমতলের চা শিল্প” is moving ahead with the Samahar district branding slogan of green tea, the gateway to the north. In 1996, the then and current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited Panchagarh and talked about the potential of tea cultivation. Today's Panchagarh tea garden is a product of the thoughts of Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Somotoler Cha Shilpo yatra was officially started in 2000 at Tentulia in Panchagarh. The cultivation of “সমতলের চা শিল্প” in the northern town of the country has ushered in new horizons in the economic development of the country. The once fallow cow pastures are now full of green leaves. Panchagarh tea has already entered the international market including the domestic market of the country. A silent revolution has been achieved in tea cultivation in northern districts including Panchagarh. Already on the tea map, Somotoler Cha Shilpo in the north has been ranked as the second tea producing region in the country. In 2021, a record amount of 1 crore 45 lakh 40 thousand kg of tea has been produced from 11434 acres of tea plantations in northern “সমতলের চা শিল্প” .
15 percent of the national production of tea comes from the “plain tea industry”. The expansion and production of tea plantations in the northern region is increasing day by day. 25,000-30,000 people are directly and indirectly employed in the northern tea industry. The farmers of the area have been able to change their fortunes and achieve socio-economic development by cultivating tea in their backyards, on high fallow land. Farmers are benefiting by growing eco-friendly tea instead of deadly tobacco. As a result, the interest of farmers in tea cultivation is increasing day by day. The app called “সমতলের চা শিল্প” to enrich and expand the information, history of tea industry, Bangabandhu and tea industry of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Tea Board for the development of tea industry, Sheikh Hasina and tea industry of plains, development and prospects of tea industry of plains, statistical aspects of tea of plains, current status , Future Plans, Success Stories of Some Successful Tea Growers, Information on Tea Workers Working in Tea Gardens, Challenges and Ways to Overcome Plains Tea Cultivation Expansion, Prospects of Tea Tourism in Plains, Two Leaves a Bud Mobile App, Camellia Open Air School, Tea Science and Technology , illustrated information and video footage of the plains tea industry and various programs of the Tea Board have been inserted.
