Chess is a two-player strategy board game played on a chessboard, a checkered gameboard with 64 squares arranged in an eight-by-eight grid. It is one of the world's most popular games, played by millions of people worldwide in homes, parks, clubs, online, by correspondence, and in tournaments.

Each player begins the game with 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. Each of the six piece types moves differently. Pieces are used to attack and capture the opponent's pieces, with the objective to 'checkmate' the opponent's king by placing it under an inescapable threat of capture. In addition to checkmate, the game can be won by the voluntary resignation of the opponent, which typically occurs when too much material is lost, or if checkmate appears unavoidable.

almost always get higher ranked opponents and when I win I get less points than i am supposed to get and when I lose. The game says i am losing 5 points yet I have lost 6 points,when you are close to a promotion in the game this is really annoying .Every time this happens ,worst game ever.And the worst part is ,this only happens when you are losing , how's the algorithm incapable of reducing points properly???(how difficult it is to reduce 1!!!)Wouldn't recommend this game to anyone at all.

You can get a game quick enough but the rating system seems to be based on number of wins. I have played 45 games, Won 40 Lost 3, Draws 2 and am ranked 32064. Still Class "D". So I guess I would have to play another 100 games or so to move up. It is not using the standard ELO system that almost all chess servers use.

Most 5 star reviews are fake. Google Play should remove this app, there are many other chess app who's more reliable. Server crashes three times a week so after days of spending time moving up in the ranking & building up win streak, game auto says "Lose". No internet problem, just crashes. Also they updated this all because too many cheaters who turn off their WiFi before lose & you auto win and climb up in ranking. But I still see cheaters here. Do yourself a favor & download another app.
