Win is an anagram word puzzle game where the value of a hint scales with the difficulty of the puzzle you're facing. On an Easy three-letter word, a hint is almost unnecessary. On a Hard seven-letter word from the Science category, the same hint can be the difference between solving and failing.

Seven-letter words have over five thousand possible arrangements. Finding the correct one by trial-and-error within a ticking countdown is genuinely difficult, even for experienced word solvers. A single revealed letter cuts the problem space dramatically.

This is why hints are most appreciated in Hard mode. Players who choose the hardest difficulty do so knowing they'll encounter words that challenge even strong vocabularies. The hint system acknowledges that difficulty is real and offers a fair lifeline rather than a brutal dead end.

The reveal hint on a long scientific or geographic word often places a rare letter, a Q, Z, or X, in its correct slot, which is usually the most informative position and unlocks the rest of the word almost instantly.
