There are three reasons why APLGI was founded by golf course owners, namely:
- Establish a forum that can professionally help members improve the quality of golf course construction, maintenance and management in accordance with technological developments.
- To help members improve the quality of facilities, infrastructure, services and golf course management
- As a forum for exchanging experience and knowledge, especially to be able to help solve common problems faced by APLGI member golf courses
So far, there are still many people in Indonesia who think that golf courses are only for the elite. Therefore, APLGI seeks to socialize to the public that the golf course business can provide many benefits for the development of Indonesia. Golf courses as a labor-intensive business can create many jobs, especially for the community around the golf course. In addition, the existence of a golf course can become the lungs of the city, thereby reducing the potential for flooding and air pollution.
APLGI is led by a general chairman who is the owner of APLGI golf courses who are elected by the members at the National General Meeting (RUANAS) which is held every four years.
