ABOUT FEBRAF
FEBRAF is the higher-level union entity that represents the commercial development segment in Brazil, coordinating the state unions of the economic category of commercial development companies throughout the national territory.
In February 1982, thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of Luiz Lemos Leite and a group of businessmen, ANFAC was founded in Brazil, a pioneering entity in Commercial Factoring in our country.
With the growth of the sector, 18 state unions of commercial factoring companies were created. In 1993, under the presidency of Luiz Lemos Leite, there was the first attempt to establish a national federation – the then FEBRAFAC – approved by the Ministry of Labor but challenged by other federations.
In 2010, with the support of ANFAC and the union of the unions SINFAC-DF, SINFAC-ES, SINFAC-PE, SINFAC-PR and SINFAC-RJ – coordinated by SINFAC-DF, then presided over by Luiz Napoleão, and on the initiative of its Administrative Director, José Ferreira Fernandes, with legal guidance from Dr. Nicole Goulart – the process of creating the Federation was restarted.
It was four years of hard work. Thirteen federations filed objections which, according to current regulations, were rejected by the Ministry of Labor. On February 24, 2014, FEBRAF's union registration was finally granted, covering the entire national territory.
The creation of FEBRAF is a historical milestone for the institutional consolidation of commercial factoring, protecting and coordinating the actions of unions and strengthening the unity of the sector.
EXPANSION AND NEW FRONTS
With the purpose of strengthening its area of operation, in 2024 FEBRAF affiliated with CNS – the National Confederation of Services, expanding its representation in the sector.
In 2025, the Associates category was created, intended to house national entities representing economic sectors aligned with the Federation's objectives.
