Traditional Vietnamese Prayers is an application for searching traditional prayers and festivals, helping you prepare and perform rituals correctly on important family occasions: the first day of the lunar month, the full moon day, anniversaries, Tet (Lunar New Year), housewarming, business openings, visiting temples at the beginning of the year, etc.
All content is stored on your device; no internet connection is required.
📖 50 Traditional Prayer Texts
Each text is presented in three parts, not just the prayer itself:
• Meaning — why this ceremony exists, what ancient customs it represents
• Preparations — what should be prepared, vegetarian or non-vegetarian offerings
• Content of the prayer — clearly presented and easy to read aloud
Categories of prayers included in the application:
• Prayers for the first and fifteenth days of each month
• Tet (Lunar New Year) prayers: Year-end, Kitchen God on the 23rd of the 12th lunar month, New Year's Eve (indoor and outdoor), New Year's thanksgiving ceremony (burning of offerings)
• Festivals throughout the year: Lantern Festival, Qingming Festival, Han Shi Festival, Duanwu Festival, Zhongyuan Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, New Year's Day (New Rice Festival)

🏮 94 FESTIVALS, TEMPLES, PAGODAS, SHRINES, AND SHRIMP ACROSS THREE REGIONS
From the Hung Temple Festival, Huong Pagoda, Yen Tu, Tran Temple, Phu Day, Hoi Lim, and Ba Chua Kho Temple in the North; From Hue Nam Temple, Ong Hoi An Pagoda, Ponagar Tower, the Katê festival of the Cham people in Central Vietnam; to festivals in Southern Vietnam.
For each festival, the application shows:
• The date according to the lunar calendar and how many days are left until the opening day
• Location, province/city, and who is worshipped
• Meaning and legend
• Main activities in the festival
• Offerings to prepare when attending the ceremony
• Quickly open the correct prayer text for that place
The list is automatically sorted by the nearest upcoming festival, marked for ongoing festivals, and filtered separately by Northern, Central, and Southern Vietnam.
📅 LUNAR CALENDAR
The application calculates the lunar calendar directly on your device: see today's lunar date, the name of the lunar month and the year's zodiac sign, and convert the lunar calendar dates of each festival to the corresponding Gregorian calendar dates.
✨ DESIGNED FOR READING DURING PRAYERS
• Increase/decrease font size; the app remembers your chosen font size for later use.
• The screen doesn't turn off automatically while you're reading prayers.
• Search without accents: typing "van khan tho cong", "chua huong", "nam dinh" will all yield results.
• Search by festival name, temple/shrine name, or province/city name.
• Vietnamese interface, large, clear text, easy on the eyes.
🔒 WORKS OUTDOOR
Prayers, festivals, and the lunar calendar are all included in the app. You can look them up normally at temples, shrines, or in rural areas with weak signal. The app doesn't require login, doesn't ask for your phone number, and doesn't access your contacts or photos.
