About this app

PingDrop connects your Android phone to your Mac, so the two finally behave like one device.

Your phone's notifications appear on your Mac as native macOS notifications, with the right app icon. Text you copy on one device is ready to paste on the other. Files move between them by drag-and-drop or the share sheet. Nothing goes through the cloud.

NOTIFICATIONS ON YOUR MAC
See your messages, calls and alerts on the Mac you're already looking at. Each one arrives as a proper macOS notification with the correct app icon. Clear it on your Mac and it clears on your phone. Choose exactly which apps come through — everything else stays on the phone.

CALLS ON YOUR MAC — FREE
See who's calling and answer, decline or end the call from your Mac — WhatsApp calls too. The sound stays on your phone.

CLIPBOARD THAT FOLLOWS YOU
Copy on your Mac, paste on your phone. Going the other way, send your phone's clipboard to your Mac from the Quick Settings tile or the share sheet. Passwords copied from a password manager are never synced.

FILES, BOTH DIRECTIONS
Drag files onto PingDrop in your Mac's menu bar, or right-click them in Finder → Send to Phone. Share anything from your phone to PingDrop to send it to your Mac. Live progress on both ends, cancellable from either side, with a history of everything you've moved.

FIND MY PHONE — AND YOUR MAC
Lost your phone in the house? Ring it from your Mac's menu bar — loudly, even on silent. Ring your Mac from your phone, its widget or a Quick Settings tile. Pick the ring sound on each device.

YOUR PHONE AS A WEBCAM (PRO)
Pick "PingDrop Camera" in FaceTime, Zoom, Meet or any video app on your Mac. Your phone asks once, then streams over your Wi-Fi in 720p, 1080p or 2K — encrypted, no cable. Or click Photo on the Mac, take the shot on your phone, and it opens on the Mac.

WI-FI SPEED, BLUETOOTH RELIABILITY
On the same Wi-Fi (even your phone's hotspot), files move at full local-network speed. Off Wi-Fi, PingDrop falls back to Bluetooth Low Energy so notifications and clipboard keep working. It switches, and reconnects after a Wi-Fi drop or Mac sleep, on its own.

AT A GLANCE
Your Mac's battery and charging state on your phone, and your phone's battery in your Mac's menu bar.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN, NOT BY PROMISE
PingDrop has no servers. There is no account, no sign-in, and no backend for your data to pass through. Your phone talks straight to your Mac over your own network, encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key exchanged by scanning a QR code on your Mac. That key never leaves your two devices.

The developer cannot read your notifications, your clipboard, or your files — there is nowhere for that data to go.

ABOUT PERMISSIONS
On Android 11 and below, Android requires location permission for any app that scans for Bluetooth devices. PingDrop never requests, stores or sends your location, and on Android 12 and above it isn't asked for at all. The phone calls permission is only used to answer or end calls from your Mac.
