Pregnancy and lactation are very important phase in women's life. During this period, mothers need more nutrition for the fetal growth and breastfeeding. This scheme has been initiated by the Government of Gujarat on pilot basis in 10 backward blocks of Dahod, Narmada, Chhotaudepur, Mahisagar and Valsad Poshan Sudha Yojana (Spot Feeding Program). An initiative to reduce the prevalence of undernutrition and micronutrient deficiencies and to improve the nutritional status of all pregnant and lactating mother and pregnancy outcomes. In this programme, pregnant and lactating women are provided one-time full meal and IFA and calcium tablet.
