Ready to get your brain cells whirring? Try Joggle.
Whether you are a crossword wizard or novice, you'll love this original word puzzle game. Here's how it works:
You are given a clue and a six-letter word. The answer to the clue is a word formed by changing two letters in the six-letter word. You have sixty seconds.
You can choose the level of difficulty via Settings:
- FUN: Easy clues + hint (You are shown which two letters to change)
- WIZ: Easy clues but no hint (You can get a hint but it costs one coin!)
- PRO: Cryptic clues involving wordplay. For seasoned crossword buffs!
(There's also a super-hard level, ZEN, which is unlocked only after you excel at PRO level)
Your wallet comes preloaded with coins. You can earn coins by solving the puzzles fast. You burn coins when you fail to solve a puzzle. The challenge is to earn more than you burn. You can also buy coins, but earning by solving the puzzles is WAY more satisfying! In order to keep Joggle free, we do air ads between games. With a teeny in-app purchase, you can play Joggle ad-free for a whole month (Subscription auto-renews unless canceled at least 24hours before renewal).
Every word pair and clue in Joggle is hand-crafted and curated. There are more than 1,800 puzzles, with more being added every week. Joggle will provide hours of fun, as well as a gentle mental workout.
Joggle is also a great learning and teaching aid. English learners can tap the Dictionary button after solving each puzzle, and check the pronunciation and different meanings of the word. And English teachers can use Joggle as a fun way to engage students in vocabulary-building (Want the ability to set quizzes? Let us know.)
If you find the 60-second limit stressful, turn off 'Timed Play' via Settings. Note that this mode won't let you earn coins for solving the puzzles fast.
