The “Hanoi Archdiocese Communications” Mobile Application
1. Purpose:
To keep pace with global development trends, and with the desire to serve the community through modern media, contributing to the proclamation of the Gospel in the digital age, the Communications Department of the Hanoi Archdiocese has researched and developed the “Hanoi Archdiocese Communications” application on mobile platforms.
The Hanoi Archdiocese Communications application is an information channel that helps users easily access official Church information as well as rich data from the website and platforms produced and developed by the Archdiocese Communications Department. In addition, the application will build and integrate several useful functions to serve the pastoral and spiritual needs of the community of God's people.
One of the highlights of the application is the “push notification” feature, which helps users stay updated on the latest news and reminds them of important pastoral notes. Furthermore, the application allows for simple access, improves the browsing experience, and increases the accessibility of content to a wider audience.

The Archdiocese of Hanoi Media application aims to be a spiritual companion, supporting the community in living their faith more deeply, becoming more closely connected to the Church, and actively participating in pastoral life.

2. Functions and content on the application:
- Catholic Calendar

The Catholic Calendar function provides information on: liturgical days, liturgical texts, solemnities, feasts, and memorials in the liturgical year, and meditations on the Word of God.

Users can view the Word of God by day and save events and notes/reminders for each day. The Media Team will soon update the function to play audio versions of the Word of God and meditations.

Reminders/notifications of the Word of God for the day and important pastoral notes help the community conveniently arrange their prayer life and participate in the liturgy.

- News: Updates on the latest news in the life of the Church. Aiming for optimization, selection, and focus.

- Prayers

Provides the Liturgical Prayer for the Feast of the Holy Martyrs. Convenient for use on the feast day of the local martyrs of the Archdiocese of Hanoi.

Provides the content of the Archdiocese of Hanoi Prayer Book organized by category and supports searching. Suggests practices for some devotional hours such as: Visiting churches to receive indulgences, visiting cemeteries, visiting the Infant Jesus, praying for the dying, monthly devotional practices, etc.
- Sacramental Rites

Although the liturgical book should be prioritized when celebrating rites, in some cases, the person celebrating the Sacrament/Sacramental may not have enough time to prepare the liturgical book or may forget to bring it. In such cases, the rites provided in the Archdiocese of Hanoi Communication Application can be used. Currently, the Application provides some commonly used Sacramental rites: Guidance on examination of conscience, confession; Rite of Visitation and Holy Communion for the Sick; Blessing of Crosses, Statues, and Rosary; General Blessing; Blessing of Vehicles; Blessing of Masses Abroad; Blessing of the Fetus; Blessing of Places; Blessing of Infants; Funeral Rites

- Archdiocesan Synod Documents: For convenient access and implementation of the 2022 Archdiocesan Synod documents, the Archdiocesan Media application transmits the content of post-synodal documents and notes within those documents.

- Other Categories: Introduction to the Archdiocese of Hanoi; List of Priests (with quick search support. Only basic information as published on the website is included); List & information of deaneries/parishes/sub-parishes (with quick search support)

3. Development Plan
- Update/improve functions, content, and interface
- Build a stable and secure technical infrastructure
- Continue researching, developing, and integrating new functions to attract and meet the pastoral needs of all members of God's people.
