About this app

Collection of Hadith of Imam An-Nawawi, "Riyad al-Salihin" is one of the most known and loved in the Muslim world of books. This is not surprising, since, on the one hand, it contains part of the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, which is second in importance after the Quran the basis of doctrine of Islam, on the other hand, its compiler was respected scholar, his whole life devoted to the service of Islam. Surprising another: Why such popularity it has acquired the book, although there are many other collections of Hadith, composed of not less than reputable individuals? In my opinion, the reason is very successful arrangement of material distributed by topic (musannaf) and an equally good choice for each hadith of three hundred and seventy-two chapters of the collection.

I would like to stress the importance of this book, as well as the importance of exploring the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, in general. Not having at least a minimal knowledge of the Sunnah, which make up a hadith, it is impossible to understand what constitutes Islam, it is impossible to understand and people who profess this religion. Thus, it is clear that for Muslims the knowledge of the Sunnah is merely optional, as for the others, the ignorance of a major part of one of the world's religions, to say does not decorate.

Readers are invited to the first complete translation of "Riyad al-Salihin" in Russian except for the comments of Imam An-Nawawi which are relevant to the Arabic grammar, spelling, and other things, comprehensible only to those who speak Arabic. Other comments or transferred in whole or their content is reflected in the respective notes, which is done for the convenience of the book.

I would like to draw the attention of the respected reader to the following two points:

1 - The word "prayer" (salat) in translating all designated compulsory or voluntary Muslim prayer, consisting, respectively, of a fixed or an arbitrary number of rak'ahs. Not to be confused with the word supplication (du'a), which is indicated by handling all requests and prayers to Allah.

2 - The words, taken by me in brackets, missing from the relevant verses, Hadith and other parts of the text, but implied meaning. In all cases, interpolation made on the basis of authoritative Hadith tafsirs and comments. When translating comments have been used to "Riyad al-Salihin", composed by Muhammad 'Allyanom al-Sadiq al-Shafi'i and al-Ash'ari al-Makki (died 1057 AH).

I sincerely wish every one of those who will read this book, so she went in his favor, and I express my sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to its publication. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and may Allah bless and let our Prophet Muhammad, his family and all his companions.
