Sheikh Dr. Abdel Rahim Al-Nabulsi: a Moroccan jurist, reciter, and linguist
He was born in the city of Marrakesh in the year 1965. After a year of his age, his father sent him to his grandfather to learn the origins of the Arab villages (the village of Ouled Hashad in eastern Zemran) from the work of Marrakesh, so he learned the alphabet and the Mufsal using the ancient methods on the blackboard, like all the others, at the hands of Sheikh Kabour.
Then he returned to Marrakesh at the age of six for school, and completed memorizing the Qur’an at the hands of his father, Sheikh Abd al-Salam, and Sheikh Mustafa al-Bahyawi, with the narrations of Warsh and Hafs. This was accompanied by reading Usul al-Shatibiyyah, Alfiyyah Ibn Malik, Juz al-Sahihayn, Nukhbat al-Fikr, al-Tahawiyyah, al-Wasitiyya, Aqila Atrab al-Qasaida, Nazim al-Zahr, Nuniya al-Sakhawi, Raiya al-Khaqaani, and Ghaith al-Nafa by Sfaxi, as well as The Tajweed was also corrected by Sheikh Abu Ubaidah based on the narration of Hafs from the Way of Taybah.
He obtained a baccalaureate degree from the Ibn Youssef School for Authentic Education in Marrakesh, then joined the Faculty of Arabic Language, at which point he studied until the third year. The Faculty of the Qur’an at the Islamic University of Medina contacted him, so he moved there and stayed there for months, then returned to the Faculty of Language, and in the Faculty of the Qur’an he met sheikhs and notable figures.
A Moroccan jurist, reciter and linguist, head of the Imam Abi Amr Al-Dani Center for Specialized Reading Studies and Research in Marrakesh, affiliated with the Muhammadiyah Association of Scholars.
A number of students of knowledge in the East and West, including Saeed Al-Kamali, graduated at the hands of Sheikh Abdul Rahim Al-Nabulsi, in the ten minor and major recitations.
He held the position of Professor of Directing Readings at the College of Arabic Language in Marrakesh and Professor of Grammar and Morphology at the College of Arabic Language at Umm Al-Qura University in Mecca. Professor of Qira’at at the Imam Al-Shatibi Institute in Jeddah.
Sheikh Abd al-Rahim al-Nabulsi considers his specialty and craft to be grammar and morphology, but he employs linguistics to serve the readings and to serve the Qur’an in the meaning of stopping and starting, as he considers his craft to be grammar and his hobby to be reading, and he considers that “the two are inseparable, so one must have the other, because reading without grammar becomes a disaster.”
Sheikh Abd al-Rahim al-Nabulsi worked on editing manuscripts and major books in various legal and linguistic sciences, such as the book: Fara’id al-Ma’ani fi Sharh Harz al-Amani by Ibn Ajrum al-Sanhaji, which is the subject of a state doctorate, and the book The Final Say in the Difference of the Seven in Waqf and Wasl by Abu Zayd Abd al-Rahman al-Qadi al-Miknasi, which is the subject of the Postgraduate Diploma, and the investigation: Nazm al-Bari’ fi Qira’at Nafi’ by Ibn Ajrum, the investigation: Nazm al-Fat al-Wasl for him, and the investigation: Nazm al-Wasl for him. A correction on the guidance of the doubtful by Ibn Ajrum, and an investigation of: The book “Nashr al-Murjan fi drawing the verses of the Qur’an” by Al-Arkati, and an investigation of “Ijaz al-Bayan fi Qira’at Warsh Ibn Abd al-Rahman” by Abu Amr al-Dani.
He also wrote a number of studies and books, including a series on the theory of possibility in the decree of the Imam, and the clear reasons for deleting the soft alif, an explanation of what is deleted by tautology from the alifs, the context of anomalous reading and the drawbacks of the book of Sibawayh, the poetic implications and their connection to linguistic reality, and a comparative study between the ancient dialect conception and its effects on the tongues of the modernists in the Arabian Peninsula, and other works.
Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahim Al-Nabulsi is currently offering religious lessons in the “Recitations” subject within the framework of the academic chairs supervised by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.
