About this game

🎵 Ear training that sticks — 14 games for intervals, chords, rhythm and playing melodies by ear. Free to start, no account needed.

Most ear trainers ask you to pick the answer from a list. Harmonize asks you to *make* the sound: slide to harmonize against a reference tone, play a melody back on a keyboard, tap a rhythm. Producing the interval yourself is what makes it stay. Train with the cute mascots Ebifurya and Kakifurya.

▼ 14 games
• Double Stop — harmonize two notes: unison, octave, perfect 5th/4th, major/minor 3rds and 6ths (8 categories)
• Chords — real 3–4 voice chords, unlocked as you collect stars
• Moon — the reference tone fades away; harmonize from memory alone
• Low Register — bass instruments, where intervals are hardest to hear
• Trill — train the speed and evenness of your trill
• Ear Copy — listen to a melody and play it back on the keyboard (9 categories, 129 levels)
• Rhythm — tap the offbeats with the metronome: 6 meters from march to sixteenths × 8 sound packs
• Polyrhythm — two hands, two pulses at once
• Mimic Drum — call and response: hear a rhythm, drum it back
• Takoyaki — a memory game where the pairs match by pitch
• Scales — major, minor and the church modes
• Arpeggio — chord arpeggios in just intonation
• Goldfish Scoop — tell the goldfish apart by their tone
• Silent — no sound at all: count the seconds with your internal clock

▼ Tools and extras
• Weekly Challenge — 5 questions, one shot each, with an online leaderboard
• Metronome and Tuner built in
• Tutorial for complete beginners

Wonderful!! That's what I was looking for! Please, add chords! As a woodwind player I always was limited by keys. We just press a key and think that it is in tune. But, string players always conscious about their pitch. That's why they have way better trained ear. This app allow me to train my ear the way as a string player sliding their finger to match the interval. Thank you! Please, add the chords.

I love the app, and it's a great tool to use with students to get them to focus in on pitch — however, the sound effects (applause, trombone noises) after each level can be distracting and disorienting. I wish I had the option to turn these off. By the same token, I wish I could pay to remove the ads as their music and sound effects are similarly distracting. The lack of a settings tab at all is a turn-off for me.

Adverts after every game - with each game lasting just a few seconds. The advert pops up so fast you don't even get to see your result. There's no opportunity to check your result or improve. It's definitely no good for "learning" or "improving" unless you're already very good in the first place. To see instructions on how to play, you have to leave the game and open a website. Why?!?! It is very pretty though. And there are lots and lots of levels to play. But I unistalled while still on Lv1
