This is coming along well and is nicer in some ways than the original Avare app. Two details, for me it seems to only try to connect to ads-b by bluetooth, and I can't find any way to connect by wifi. Also if I use location it absolutely refuses to work using only the phone's gps and insists that I use the google location accuracy (anonymous data collection) option which I usually do not want to use. Still hoping for a way to add in or patch in international charts someday! Good work!

I have used the original Avare app since Y2016. This app, AvareX, replaces it - with more features, plus the ability to run on multiple platforms including iOS and Windows PC. that comes with a learning curve though, and changing from the old to the new has sometimes been challenging. having made the change, I won't go back! I highly recommend this powerful freeware for general aviation.

I liked Avare a lot and even used it for my multi checkride. So I recently downloaded AvareX. I still prefer Avare even though AvareX appears to have much better functionality. Avare is a lot simpler to use and I prefer manually updating winds, weather, TFR's, etc. AvareX tries to download those automatically but I often get download errors. As of version 0.0.101 the error in the formula used to calculate groundspeed and wind correction angle has been fixed (Avare still has this error though).
