About this app

Locked In Vocab helps students build a stronger vocabulary through short, focused practice sessions, word games, review tools, and progress tracking. It is designed for learners preparing for school vocabulary work, SAT and ACT reading, advanced coursework, and everyday reading confidence.

Practice is organized by level so students can start where they are and grow at a comfortable pace. Learners can review definitions, example sentences, related words, roots, and usage patterns, then reinforce what they learn through interactive game modes.

Key features

- Vocabulary levels from elementary practice through advanced college-prep words
- SAT and ACT prep vocabulary for students building reading and language skills
- Multiple game modes for recall, context clues, sentence building, memory, synonyms, antonyms, and fast review
- Progress tracking for XP, streaks, mastered words, and learning history
- Review tools for missed words and saved flashcards
- Parent controls that can connect learning goals to app access
- No third-party advertising

Parent controls and Accessibility Service disclosure

Locked In Vocab includes optional parent controls. When a parent or guardian turns on app blocking, Locked In Vocab uses the Android AccessibilityService API to support this parental-control feature.

The Accessibility Service is used only to detect the name/package of the app currently opened on the device so Vocab Builder can show a parent lock screen for apps the parent chooses to block. This lets a parent require a learning goal or parent PIN before access to selected apps is allowed.

Locked In Vocab does not use Accessibility Service to read screen text, messages, keystrokes, passwords, payment information, browser history, or the contents of other apps. Locked In Vocab does not share Accessibility Service data with third parties.

The Accessibility Service is optional and is not required for vocabulary learning. Parents must review the in-app disclosure and choose whether to allow the service before Android Accessibility settings are opened. Parents can manage or turn off the service from Android Accessibility settings. In-app parent controls are protected by a parent PIN after setup.

Who it is for

Locked In Vocab is useful for students, families, homeschool learners, tutors, and adults who want structured vocabulary practice. It supports quick daily study as well as longer review sessions before tests, reading assignments, or classroom assessments.

The goal is simple: make vocabulary practice active, clear, and repeatable, while giving parents optional tools to encourage focused learning time.
