Our Patron

St. Francis of Assisi is our heavenly patron. He is the example par excellence of care for the vulnerable and of an integral ecology lived out joyfully and authentically. He is the patron saint of all who study and work in the area of ecology. He was a mystic and a pilgrim who lived in simplicity and in wonderful harmony with God, with others, with nature and with himself. He shows us just how inseparable the bond is between concern for nature, justice for the poor, commitment to society, and interior peace.

Our Founder

Very Rev Bro Paulus Herman Moritz (1869-1942) is the Founder of the Congregation of the Franciscan Missionary Brothers (CMSF). The Congregation of the Franciscan Missionary Brothers was founded in India in 1901 by Rev Bro Paulus Herman Moritz. He was born on 29th June 1869 in Germany. He had a passionate love for humanity and he saw the face of God in every person. The orphans, the destitute and the economically challenged children found in him a loving father and mother. For the poor and the marginalized sections of the society he founded a Brothers’ Congregation to be a Brother to all. Franciscan Missionary Brothers, continue to make the ideals of their founder, a living reality in their world wide mission of education supported by a network of people oriented developmental activities such as Orphanages, Boys’ Homes, School, Colleges, Technical Institutes, Dispensaries, Hospitals, Vocational Training Centres, Rehabilitation Centres, etc.

The book represents the book of knowledge, the Bible, which is the perennial source of inspiration and it symbolises that the school is based on Christian Principles. It also signifies learning for enlightenment. The flying bird is symbol of our deep commitment for peace and harmony in the world. It also reiterates the lofty ideals Francisians are bound to follow; love, respect and service. The flying bird is reflection of our insatiable desire for excellence.
