Some addons focus on Herobrine and characters like him. One gives Herobrine his own thick fog and striking visual effects, another skips the simple chase formula entirely and gives the character his own set of behaviors and abilities, so every encounter plays out differently. There is also a big all in one addon that brings together several iconic creepypastas at once, including Herobrine, Entity 303, several Slendermen appearing together, and Sadako, each with its own mechanics and way of showing up in your world.

Other addons add characters beyond the Herobrine theme. One brings several eerie creatures pulled from games, movies, and shows and is still in an early stage of development, so more mobs and items are planned over time. Another lets you summon well known creepypasta characters through a special crafted egg and warns that they hit hard. An experimental addon adds a handful of mysterious entities like Anonymous and Distorted Alex with adjustable sound triggers, though it is unfinished and can behave unpredictably. Separate addons recreate the SCP Foundation theme with a containment breach involving dangerous entities such as one you must never blink at and one that attacks the moment you look at it, plus a Sun Man character with a dark atmosphere and its own chase animations. One more addon fills the world with creatures born from the fog and occasionally startles you with random lightning.

Beyond the creatures themselves, the collection includes an addon that focuses on atmosphere rather than mobs: unsettling sounds, altered trees, and a general sense of dread across the world, all without disabling your achievements. Fans of story driven challenges will like the horror map built around escaping a grim fortress where your own mind starts playing tricks on you. And for players who want the eerie mood from the moment they open the game, there is a texture pack that replaces the regular Minecraft title screen with a sinister version.
