Doku Paz - The Lost Chronicle

Appynamic

About this game

The Grimoire has lost the pages of the Great Chronicle, and the Grey Mist has scattered them all over the Pas-de-Calais, in northern France. With Pip, Paz 62, Russet the fox and Hoot the owl, set off to find them: every zone you win gives back a real page of history, checked and sourced.

🗺️ SEVEN EPISODES, ONE REGION
• Olhain: the forest, the castle in its moat, the Fairies' Table, the Stone Age and the Lorette hills
• Coal: the coal forest of 300 million years ago, the pit, the miners' town and the slag heaps
• Arras: the Atrebates, the Roman town, the trouvères, the tapestries, the boves and the citadel
• Giants: the ducasse, the giants' festival and the carnival
• Opal: Berck and its kites, Boulogne-sur-Mer, the Two Capes and Blériot's plane, Calais and its lace
• Saint-Omer: the marsh and its bacôves, the cathedral, the Fontinettes boat lift, Thérouanne
• La Coupole: the heath at nightfall, the dome, the planetarium and the Moon
30 chapters in all, and the first chapter of every episode is open from the start.

⚔️ MOVE, THEN THROW
Put your thumb anywhere: a joystick appears right under it. While Pip walks, he dodges; as soon as he stops, he throws at the nearest Mistling, and your companion shoots along with him. Attacks are slow and marked on the ground, and Mistlings are dispelled, never hurt.

🎒 AN OUTFIT FOR EVERY CHAPTER
Little knight, visitor with a lamp helmet, little Gaul, band drummer, kite flyer, boatman, stargazer… Pip dresses like the place he crosses. And at every level, pick one talent out of three, which each episode dresses in its own way.

📜 287 PAGES OF HISTORY
Every page of the Chronicle is read by the Grimoire and comes from a cited source: Wikipedia, the French Mérimée heritage database, official sites, museums. What is made up is said to be made up. On the bridge of Questions, Hoot only asks about a page you have already read; get it wrong, and she opens the page again to explain. Sort the dates with "Put them in order".

🎮 22 MINI-GAMES
Fly Blériot's little plane, drive the moon buggy, dive at Boulogne, fly a kite at Berck, pole a bacôve through the marsh, dig an archaeological trench… They open as you win chapters.

🍃 THE NOTEBOOK AND THE COMPANIONS
Real animals and real plants are peaceful: you watch them and write them in the notebook, 92 species in all. 38 little animated companions from the Doku universe travel with Pip, each with its own power.

👶 FOR PARENTS
• No ads, no purchases, no account
• Links to the outside world go through a parental gate
• No soldier is an enemy, no weapon, no flag: the wars are told in a child's words, through what remains and what helped
• The Mistlings are made up and stand for no people and no army
• Losing erases nothing: everything learned stays in the Chronicle
• In English and French
