About this app

Most parents have faced that fearful moment when they lose sight of their child while they are out and about.

Kidz1st is a innovative digital tool to assist parents or guardians in the case where a child or minor gets lost or even kidnapped. With the press of a button an amber alert is sent to all Kidz1st and Guardian subscribers within a 2 kilometer radius to assist in the search for your child.

When the amber alert is issued, an immediate search party of fellow Kidz1st and Childguard users is mobilized to search and identify your missing child. The first 5 minutes of a child going missing are considered the most crucial, and by having numerous users instantly assisting in the search, the prospect of success is extremely high.

Once the application is downloaded and installed the parent or guardian can start creating a profile for each child. Information including name, surname, eye colour, hair colour, height and clothing is required. A profile picture of the child is also uploaded. This information is only shared to other subscribers if the parent or guardian issues an amber alert.

The amber alert can be cancelled at any point in time by the parent. If the child is not found within 2 hours the parent will receive a notification to either cancel the amber alert or to escalate it and notify local authorities. The profile of the child can then be exported from the app and shared directly with the relevant authorities.

If one of your nearby Kidz1st users or Childguard subscribers finds your child, they can report the missing child by logging a “child found” report. The report consists of the user’s name, telephone number and location. Once the report is submitted the parent of the missing child will be notified via the Kidz1st application. The parent can simply select the “take me there” function and the app will open up maps that navigate to the user that reported the child found.

Once the parent has located the child and the Kidz1st user, the user can select the verify parent option, the application on the parent’s device will generate a unique QR code specifically linked to the child’s profile. This ensures that the child is returned safely to the actual parents or guardians.

As soon as the child has been returned safely, the amber alert is cancelled automatically and the notification data is cleared from all users’ phones.

The Kidz1st application is completely compatible with the Childguard application, which will be rolled out to schools, shopping malls and public spaces. The Kidz1st application fully integrates with the Childguard application and ensures a broader and more effective search party

The Kidz1st application is specifically designed for parental peace of mind in building a safer environment for our future generations
