SnapSave is an indie project, designed and built by Araf Ibne Omar.

SnapSave is a fast, private notebook with a PIN-locked vault for the notes you would rather nobody else opened. No account. No sign-in. No tracking. It works in flight mode, and it will work exactly the same way in a year.

WRITE ANYTHING
• Notes with a title, body and Markdown formatting
• Attach photos, compressed automatically so your storage lasts
• Record voice notes directly into a note
• Links are detected and made tappable as you type

FIND IT AGAIN
• Instant search across every note
• Organise with categories you name yourself

THE SECRET VAULT
Notes kept in the vault are encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM. Your PIN is stretched with PBKDF2 (SHA-256, 100,000 iterations), and the vault key is wrapped so that only your PIN — or the one-time recovery code shown when you set it up — can unlock it.

• Lock the app when it is minimised, or every time it closes
• Require your PIN on each visit to the vault

• A recovery code, shown once, for if you forget your PIN

REMINDERS THAT ARRIVE
• One-off, daily, weekly, or your own custom set of days
• Attach a reminder to a specific note
• A notification centre inside the app showing what is coming up

MAKE IT YOURS
• Seven typefaces built in, from a clean monospace to Playfair Display and Cormorant Garamond
• Import your own fonts — .ttf, .otf, .woff and .woff2 all work
• Full dark and light themes with a soft animated backdrop
• Scale the entire interface up or down to suit your eyes

GENUINELY OFFLINE
SnapSave asks for no account and talks to no server. Your notes never leave your device unless you export them yourself. Even the fonts ship inside the app, so nothing is fetched from the internet while you write.

Export a readable JSON backup whenever you like — or an encrypted backup of your vault that only your PIN can reopen. Import it back just as easily.

• Microphone — used only while you are recording a voice note
• Notifications — used only to deliver the reminders you set yourself
