Arcane Solitaire by dobrowin turns a card game into a fight. You lay out solitaire the way you always have, but every run you build resolves as an action -- and the suit decides which one.
Swords deal damage. Cups restore mana. Shields absorb the boss's next hit. A long run is not automatically the best play; a five-card sword chain is wasted if the boss is about to swing and you have no shield up. Reading the board as a combat plan instead of a tidy-up is the shift that makes the whole thing click.
The Dobrowin boss acts on its own schedule and telegraphs, which gives the layout a clock. Cards you would normally save for later are worth burning now, and cards you would normally play immediately are worth holding one turn.
Deck building between dungeons adds spell cards and, more importantly, lets you remove weak ones -- a thinner deck draws its good cards more often, which is the lesson the game teaches by letting you learn it.
An artifact inventory grants passive bonuses, and settings control card animation speed and background music.
Arcane Solitaire by dobrowin is fully offline. No account, no purchases, no ads at the table. Just a layout, a suit and a boss that swings on three.
Play solitaire runs as sword blows, mana and shields against a boss.
