About this app

RadioX is an online radio app. Pick a station from tens of thousands worldwide and start listening — no account, no sign-up, it plays as soon as you open it.

■ WHAT IT IS

RadioX does not provide any audio and owns no rights to any station. It presents a public station directory and points the player at the station's own stream. It is an index, not a broadcaster.

■ WHAT IT DOES

· Find stations by country, tag or name — tens of thousands of them, from Iceland to Argentina
· See what people are listening to right now, or sort by most voted
· Favourites and listening history — kept on your own phone, never uploaded
· Plays in the background — switch and pause from the lock screen or the notification
· Share a saved station with someone
· Long-press a station to block it, so it stops appearing anywhere
· A built-in sleep timer

■ WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM

Station data comes from Radio Browser, a volunteer-maintained open directory of radio stations. Its API is free and open, and anyone can submit or correct an entry.

Each station's audio stream is provided by that station, and the rights to it belong to its owner. RadioX only indexes and plays — it does not relay, cache or redistribute. The streams are live, so availability depends on the station itself.

■ PRIVACY

There is no account system, so there is no data of yours for us to hold. Favourites, history and settings live only on your device and disappear when you uninstall. Ads are served by Google AdMob; in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you choose whether to allow personalised advertising first, and you can change that choice at any time in Settings.

■ REPORTING AND COPYRIGHT

This app is a directory of third-party stations. If you find content that violates the rules, or believe a station infringes your rights, write to [e-mail] and we will block it within the app.
