About this app

Taskr is a local marketplace for one-off tasks. Post something you need done, or find tasks near you and request the ones you can do. One account does both: you're the Seeker on tasks you post and the Taskr on tasks you request.

POST A TASK
• Describe the job, add up to 8 photos, and set a fixed price, or leave the price open to make it a negotiable task.
• Say whether materials are on hand, needed (with an optional materials budget), or not applicable.
• Your street address stays private. The board shows only a neighborhood-level area, and the address is shared only after you pay to confirm a booking.
• Edit or cancel your task any time before it's booked.

FIND AND REQUEST WORK
• The Board lists open tasks near your ZIP code. Search by keyword, ZIP, distance, materials, and labor budget.
• Switch to Map view to see nearby task pins and pan around to explore. Pins sit at neighborhood level, never on a street address.
• Tap Book to request a task. Fixed-price tasks are requested at the listed price. On a negotiable task, you send your price with the request. There's no open bidding.
• While your request is pending, the task is held for you. You can withdraw it any time before the Seeker pays, and the task goes back on the board.
• Taskrs never pay to book a task.

CONFIRM AND PAY
• When a Taskr requests your task, you get a message asking you to pay to confirm. You can pay or decline.
• Paying confirms the booking. On a negotiable task, paying the Taskr's price means you agree to it.
• If you don't pay within 24 hours, the request expires and your task goes back on the board.
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe, and Taskr never stores your card number.

ESCROW AND PAYOUTS
• Your payment is held in escrow until both people confirm the job is done, then it's released to the Taskr.
• The Taskr receives 90% of the task price and Taskr keeps a 10% platform fee. Taskrs get paid out through Stripe Connect.
• After the payment is released, the Seeker can add a tip. Tips go 100% to the Taskr.

CHAT, CONFIRM, RATE
• Every booking gets its own message thread, so you can coordinate details and timing in the app.
• The work address is shared with the Taskr once the Seeker pays and the booking is confirmed.
• Both people confirm when the job is done, then rate each other to build trust in the community.
• Report a listing, photo, message, or person, and block anyone you don't want to deal with.

SIMPLE, PASSWORD-FREE SIGN-IN
• Sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. No password to remember.
• Add your skills and a home ZIP to see relevant tasks nearby.

Taskr is for adults 18 and older and is currently available in the United States. Taskr is a platform that connects people. It does not employ Seekers or Taskrs.
