ShowUp is built on one idea: attendance should mean something. Every guest pays a small entry fee to join an event — and if someone doesn't show up, their fee doesn't disappear. It's split between everyone who actually attended, including the host.

No more flaky RSVPs. No more half-empty rooms. Just events people are genuinely committed to.

HOW IT WORKS

For hosts:
• Create an event, set your entry fee and guest limit
• Choose public or invite-only (approve who joins)
• Verify attendance at the door with a QR scan + GPS check-in
• Get paid for every guest who actually shows up
• Share in the no-show pool alongside your attendees

For guests:
• Discover events nearby, or get invited by a host
• Pay to secure your spot
• Check in with a QR code and your location when you arrive
• If anyone doesn't show, you get a share of their fee as in-app credit
• Chat with the host and other guests before the event

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT

Every other events app treats a "yes" as a suggestion. ShowUp treats it as a commitment — because there's money on the line for everyone, not just the host. Hosts stop losing money on no-shows. Guests get rewarded for actually turning up.

Dual-factor check-in (QR code + GPS location) means attendance can't be faked — you have to actually be there.
