CIPHER DETECTIVE — a word puzzle, brain game, and cipher decoding game
all in one. Solve word puzzles hidden behind secret codes, train your
brain with logic puzzles, and crack cases as a detective — completely
free to play, fully offline, no account needed.

Every case hides a real word behind a numeric checksum — trace the
letters, watch the running total build tile by tile, and verify both
the password AND the key before the case closes.

STORY MODE
100 hand-tuned cases across five ranks, from Rookie to Master Cryptanalyst.
Each rank introduces exactly one new twist to the checksum — a shifted
alphabet, an alternating sign, a per-row shift, a multiply modifier — so the
difficulty always climbs one idea at a time, never all at once, like a true
brain teaser should. Evidence text gives you an honest, riddle-style lead
toward the answer, but a planted rival word means you can't just guess —
you have to actually trace the grid to be sure.

TIME ATTACK
An endless run against a single countdown clock. This is the word finder
half of the game: find real words on a freshly generated grid as fast as
you can — solving one buys you more time and pushes the difficulty up a
notch every ten cases. No shifting ciphers here, just speed and sharp
eyes. Out of time? Watch a quick ad to keep the run going.

REAL CIPHER
Once you've closed all 100 story cases, a second specialty unlocks: five
classic ciphers (Caesar shift, Atbash, a repeating key, reverse-and-shift,
and a hidden-shift finale) with no grid to trace — just type your decoded
answer on the keyboard like a real code breaker. This is the pure decoding
half of the detective's job, with hints available if you get stuck.
