The player is great overall (coming from an audio nut), but the parametric Eq is hardly usable if you don't know what you'll be getting.. had to use formulas to calculate and verify the Eq results. The Width here is 1/Q. The Libs need to be updated to ones which provide upsampling to more bit depth and rate, most phones support it nowadays. Also to beautify it a little with the Now Playing screen, and this would be the player to beat.

I've used enough Android players to know two things that seem pertinent here. One, there is no "best" until you control for whatever variables matter specifically to you and then rate along those lines you just created. And two, just because you've done all that doesn't mean you're "right" to apply your standards elsewhere as if everyone automatically thinks what you do. Why all this? Arm Amp is a clunky-GUI'd workhorse that can make your music stop conversations with its power and clarity. πŸ‘‚
